An invitation to an interview is an opportunity — Preparation makes the difference

An invitation to an interview at Harvard, Oxford, or another leading university is a significant achievement. It means the admissions committee has read your application and is seriously considering you.

What happens in this conversation — and how thoroughly you have prepared — can be the deciding factor. ARC prepares you with structured practice interviews and genuine insider knowledge.

Every format is different

Harvard alumni interviews, Oxford academic interviews, and recorded video platforms require completely different preparation — what works for one school can be detrimental for another.

Authentic — not memorized

The most common trap is over-rehearsed, stiff answers. Admissions interviewers immediately recognize when someone is reciting a sentence. Real confidence comes from the right way of practicing.

Insider knowledge counts

What Harvard alumni interviewers really evaluate cannot be Googled. ARC consulting is based on direct, personal experience — not on generic tips from the internet.

University interview formats ARC prepares for

USA · Ivy League

Harvard Alumni Interview

45–60 Minutes · Conversational

Harvard alumni interviews are conversational — 45–60 minute talks with Harvard graduates in your region. They focus on who you are as a person. ARC prepares students specifically for this format — based on firsthand experience of what Harvard alumni interviewers truly value.

UK · Oxford

Oxford Academic Interview

20–30 Minutes · Academically Rigorous

Oxford interviews are academically rigorous — they involve unfamiliar problems, textual discussions, or challenging hypothetical questions in your field of study. ARC prepares students for the demanding intellectual discussion format that makes Oxford interviews unique.

Many Universities

Video & Recorded Interviews

Timed · No Live Interaction

Many universities now use recorded video platforms like Kira Talent or HireVue — timed responses without live interaction. These require a different kind of preparation. ARC helps students practice specifically for this increasingly common format.

01

Format-Specific — No One-Size-Fits-All

Every school evaluates interviews differently. What impresses in a Harvard alumni interview is irrelevant for an Oxford academic interview. We prepare you for the exact format you will encounter.

02

Authentic — Not Memorized

The goal is never to memorize perfect answers. The goal is to give you enough confidence so that you are natural and clear in the conversation — even with unexpected questions.

03

Directly with the Harvard Consultant

You practice directly with a Harvard-educated consultant who has personal experience with these interview formats — not with a junior advisor working from a script.

04

Online · Immediately Bookable

All sessions take place online — via Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams. As soon as you receive an interview invitation, we can begin preparation within days.

As soon as you receive your invitation. We recommend at least two to three weeks of structured preparation before the interview date. Contact ARC immediately upon receiving an invitation so we can create a focused preparation plan.
No. Harvard and most Ivy League schools offer alumni interviews where alumni networks exist — but not all applicants receive one. Oxford and Cambridge conduct interviews with all shortlisted candidates. Some universities do not conduct interviews at all. ARC guides you through exactly what you can expect from each institution on your list.
An alumni interview (like at Harvard) is personal and conversational — it's about who you are as a person. An academic interview (like at Oxford) is intellectually challenging — it tests how you think and argue under pressure. Both require completely different preparation.
Platforms like Kira Talent or HireVue are technically and psychologically different from live conversations. We practice the exact format — time limits, answer structure, and camera technique — so you appear clear and natural even without an interviewer.
